Entry is free for everyone! The Bellingham St. Patrick's Day Parade will be truly "green," so be creative when designing your human- or green-powered entry. While green is the goal, vehicles are not prohibited.
- We encourage creative use of alternative sources of energy.
- Decorate your float with reclaimed, recycled, reusable materials.
- Make a proper leprechaun costume with green gear from Bellingham’s many thrift stores.
- Bike to the parade. Bike in the parade!
- Walk or take the bus downtown for a day of fun.
- Let’s see what people-powered 2-, 4-, or 20-wheeled forms of transportation Bellingham’s collective, collaborative, creative genius can produce!

Environmental protection and sustainability are two important goals of the parade committee. Bellingham’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade will be different from others you may be familiar with. How?
- Participants, please help us keep the parade route clean. We ask that you avoid throwing candy or tossing beads or other items to the crowd.
- Did you know that latex balloons can be recycled into compost? Just drop them into Food Plus! composting bins. Check out these tips www.savetheballoons.com for smart and safe balloon use.
- Make a proper leprechaun costume with green gear from Bellingham’s many thrift stores.
- We ask that participants and spectators seek out recycling and Food Plus! bins instead of throwing everything in the trash.
- Clean paper streamers can be recycled with mixed paper. Dirty or wet paper streamers can be recycled in Food Plus! recycling bins, or in your home compost.
- Please do not litter.
